Associate Communications Contractor, Honda North America, Inc., Torrance, Calif.
Description of Position:
This is a full-time contract position that begins immediately and ends March 31, 2014, with the potential for continuation.
The purpose of this position is to support the Corporate Communications Department in the area of Associate Communications by keeping employees informed of company activities, strategies and initiatives that encourage associate pride of affiliation with Honda. These communications are designed to empower employees with timely information and convey Respect for the Individual and other tenets of the Honda Philosophy.
The Associate Communications Contractor will write, edit, design, produce and distribute print and electronic communications to employees. He/she will serve as Assistant Editor and writer for the company’s intranet, and will be responsible for developing and implementing new online features to increase site visitation.
This individual will produce and distribute an intranet-based weekly e-newsletter to all-employees and retirees. Other department-based responsibilities may include work in the areas of executive communications, event and activity notification, and internal announcements.
The Associate Communications Contractor will also manage employee racing-related communications including results reports and other written, video and event-related communications; manage vendors related to this function.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or PR; minimum of 5 years of corporate communications or journalism experience; excellent writing skills with a strong proficiency in writing and formatting for web-based and print communications. A writing test will be administered to all finalist candidates.
This individual must also be proficient in Photoshop, PowerPoint and Excel, and have some experience with video editing; some HTML knowledge is a plus.
