Social Media Intern, Direct Male, Washington, DC


Direct Male LLC’s social media intern will be instrumental in
establishing our social media presence, getting initial visibility for
our brand, and implementing an already articulated, but living social
media strategy.


Responsibilities include:
•       Establish Facebook and Twitter presence for company
•       Implement strategies to build followers
•       Create and maintain standardized posts for vendor offers
•       Create a viral video for the new product launch
•       Distribute content to various social media web sites
•       Monitor and contribute to the social media integration for the launch
of the new Direct Male website
•       Help establish the Direct Male “voice” in social media platforms by
understanding our target customer
•       Research and engage bloggers in the DC area to help promote product
•       Monitor and engage various social media platforms
•       Contact social media leads about our services
•       Conduct Internet research and find and engage with social media
communications
•       Upgrade Direct Male executive’s personal social media presence
•       Track and provide social media statistics
•       Recommend other social media platforms for integration into strategy
such as Reddit, YouTube etc.
•       Assist with the execution of social media advertising campaigns


To qualify for this position, you must:
•       Expertise with Twitter, Facebook and other platforms
•       Passionate about Social Media (interested in doing it for yourself
too!)
•       Friendly and conversational
•       Entrepreneurial
•       GPA at least 3.0
•       Must be detail oriented, team player and technologically savvy
•       Must be comfortable with Microsoft Products
•       Fast Learner


Benefits:
•       Intern will receive a $3,000 stipend for work from approximately
May-August 2012 with possible opportunities for part-time work
thereafter.
•       Estimated weekly hours will remain flexible
•       Intern may have the option to occasionally work remotely, on his/her
own computer
•       Opportunities for increased responsibility, including writing and
sales
