Duties: The responsibilities of the PR specialist position include: feature writing on student affairs, campus news and events, enrollment and admissions as well as profiles of students, faculty and staff. Writing and disseminating news releases, media alerts and other announcements, pitching experts, story ideas and news items to local, national and international media, and responding to media requests.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field and two years public relation, journalism or communication experience; or a high school diploma or GED and six years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education preferred. Media venue experience necessary.
