Internship with Lanza Group (Atlanta, Ga.)

Internship Description 
Lanza Group, LLC is an Atlanta-based Hispanic marketing, PR and events firm that provides bi-cultural marketing solutions; connecting marketers to Hispanics throughout the United States and beyond. We are seeking interns for events management and communications projects. The qualified intern(s) will assist with managing event details, vendors, and research. They will also assist with digital marketing work, social media analysis, and media relations. This is an unpaid internship. Lanza Group intern(s) will receive a letter of recommendation and/or course credit if approved by institution. Intern schedule would either 20 or 40 hours per week, with flexibility. Internship will last 12 weeks. 


Qualified interns will have these minimum qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Flexibility to work on a variety of projects
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must have a basic understanding of public relations through course work or prior internship experience
  • Hands-on experience with and awareness of social media and online communities in relation to broader media mix
  • Familiar with social media platforms and how companies use it to drive brand awareness, engagement, and traffic to a website/social media pages
  • Exemplary follow-up skills and organization
  • Web savvy, including HTML knowledge is a plus
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain media lists
  • Monitor and track media and write media updates
  • Assist in the development of press materials
  • Emphasis on writing and researching
  • Assist with research for new business opportunities and client presentations
  • Assist with event coordination
  • Participate in internal meetings and agency events
  • Administrative duties (updating Excel spreadsheet, surfing Internet for sponsor/exhibit leads and contact information, managing e-mail.)
  • Working with vendors (caterers, A/V, etc.)
  • Assisting with the management of the company’s Twitter & Facebook accounts and building a strong list of followers
