The Shakespeare Theatre
The Shakespeare Theatre Company, in Washington DC, is seeking a Communications Manager. The Communications Manager composes, edits, and manages the content and production of a full range of communication formats that effectively support a centralized communications strategy for the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) and the Harman Center for the Arts (HCA) including; website, brochures, direct mail/email communications, newsletters and publications. The Communications Manager will also oversee and coordinate the work of the communications team, ensuring adherence to branding guidelines and consistent written communications across all departments.
The successful candidate must have excellent and diverse writing and editing skills with a command of AP style and grammar rules. Bachelors Degree in Communications or English and at least 3 years professional communications experience required. Previous experience with public relations, maintaining a website and developing and implementing social media strategies is required. Preference will be given to candidates with theatrical, performing/visual arts background or experience working for a non-profit organization or an Association.
