PR Internship with Global CIBA VISION

2010 Public Relations Internship

The Global CIBA VISION Communications team, based in Duluth, Georgia, is looking for a candidate to work on external communications with a special emphasis on managing the CIBA VISION Corporate website and social media platforms. This person will play an important role in managing public relations projects, including assisting with the writing/ editing of press releases, media monitoring and reporting, project management, and other operational tasks, as assigned. He/she will be working closely with the Global Director of Public Relations as well as provide support to the extended communications team.

Job Qualifications
• Knowledge of social media landscape and practical experience in managing such platforms
• Knowledge of managing websites (technical understanding would be a plus)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient at editing, reporting and project management
• Ability to take initiative, plan, prioritize and execute, independently, the completion of all projects
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task with accuracy, integrity and attention to detail within established deadlines
• Effective in communicating with multiple internal stakeholders and outside vendors
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Professional Training
• College student with at least two years in a public relations or communications program or post graduate student that is currently working towards a Masters degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or other related field
• Previous internship, work experience, or course work as well as practical knowledge
• Knowledge of healthcare and/or eye care industry useful
