United Way in Cobb County: Donor Engagement Student Intern Position

To make measurable impact on important human care issues (i.e., education, income, health and homelessness) and to also ensure our community's capacity to serve those in need is strong. Use your education and talents to help the community and gain valuable work experience.

Primary Responsibilities:
The donor engagement intern supports the Resource Development team on all donor engagement projects including but not limited to:
Implementation of Absolutely Incredible Kids Day project in Cobb County
Assist with the local efforts of Women's Leadership Circle shoebox project
Contribute to the Heart in Hand volunteer recognition program
Execute recognition of corporate partners following volunteer projects
Research and document key volunteer leaders to preserve historical records
Support and research year-round marketing efforts to corporate and community constituents
Implement local print media plan

Qualifications:
Internship with United Way is a competitive process. Undergraduate positions are usually filled by students majoring in Human Services, Business, Sociology, and Psychology and graduate positions are mostly filled by Masters in Business Administration and Communications majors.

Length of Commitment:
Internships are from December 28, 2009-May 7, 2010. You must be able to commit 20 hours/week with a flexible schedule between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Our goal is to give our interns quality field experience possible by providing valuable hands-on experience. Also, you can talk to your department head or academic advisor about receiving credit hours and a grade for interning with United Way. In addition, some interns may receive a paid stipend.
