Spring 2010 Intern: Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau

Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) is seeking a public relations intern for spring 2010. 

From restaurant, hotel and attraction openings to hosting prominent national media, be on the forefront of communications in Atlanta’s $11 billion hospitality industry. 

Candidates should be majoring in or have a degree in public relations, journalism or mass communications, possess strong writing and organizational skills and should be familiar with social media processes. 

Familiarity with AP style is essential. 

Responsibilities will include concept creation and execution of ACVB’s consumer e-newsletter and tourism-related story ideas; drafting press releases to support ACVB campaigns; blogging and Tweeting daily to engage residents, visitors and media; pitching local and regional media to secure positive destination coverage; assisting with media on deadline; creating media lists; and maintaining press materials and media clip reports.

Internship is unpaid, but will fulfill class credit requirements.
