Four Internship Opportunities with Peachtree Publishers

Peachtree Publishers in Atlanta is seeking candidates for four areas in our Internship Program which includes two sessions. 


Editorial Internship
Job Description:
Responsibilities include reviewing, reading and evaluating unsolicited manuscripts; assisting with copy editing, manuscript editing and proofing; reading, reviewing and critiquing manuscripts in process; compiling detailed editorial questions and/or research questions for manuscripts in process; assisting with research projects related to manuscript development such as fact-checking, reference checking, title research, competition book research, etc.; preparing for and attending acquisition meetings; assisting with special editorial needs or
projects; assisting with other department projects, especially publicity and marketing. The internship is unpaid and candidates must commit to 10 hours per week for a term of 10-12 weeks.

Job Qualifications:
Applicants must be a junior or senior level college student majoring in English, Creative Writing or a related field. You must be interested in pursuing a career in publishing or a related industry. Interns must be detail-oriented, able to handle multiple projects at once, have a strong background in literature, and possess good writing skills. Publicity Internship
Job Description:
The publicity department promotes our books and authors through print, electronic and online media as well as special events. You will help develop media lists, press materials and themed pitches, respond to
media inquiries by sending review copies and aid with press mailings. Candidates should possess strong writing skills, resourceful thinking, and a strong interest in PR.  The internship is unpaid and candidates
must commit to 10 hours per week for a term of 10-12 weeks.

Job Qualifications:
Candidates with Public Relations, English, Journalism or a related field are welcome to apply. Interns should be interested in pursuing a career in publishing or a related industry. Must be detail-oriented, able to handle multiple projects at once, and possess good writing skills. Creative Marketing Internship
Job Description:
The Creative Marketing Department works with Publicity and all other departments to promote our titles through advertising, promotions and special marketing campaigns.  Interns provide team support to a variety
of projects.  As part of the creative team, you will utilize your positive work ethic in an environment focused on creativity and attention to detail.  Duties include concepting, developing, producing and distributing collateral materials such as postcards, websites and advertisements.  The internship is unpaid and candidates must commit to 10 hours per week for a term of 10-12 weeks.

Job Qualifications:
Candidates welcomed with majors in Marketing, Communications, PR/Advertising, Graphic Design, Journalism or related fields.  Interns will be a part of the creative process and provide support with various
phases of diverse marketing campaigns and special projects.  Qualified candidates will have a willingness to learn and possess skills in editing, basic design, creative writing, research and mailings.  Send resume and cover letter via email to: Herr@peachtree-online.com.  While

School Marketing Internship
Job Description:
The School Marketing Department promotes our books and authors/illustrators in schools and libraries through print and online promotions. You will help develop and update school lists, author flyers for web and direct mailings, and respond to donation and review copy inquiries, in addition to other special projects and mailings.
Candidates should possess strong writing and verbal skills, be logical and detail-oriented, able to research on-going projects and update data sources in multiple formats. A strong interest in School Mktg/PR is helpful, but mostly a willingness to learn and enjoy the work being done.  The internship is unpaid and candidates must commit to 10 hours
 per week for a term of 10-12 weeks.
