The Communications Manager requires both strategic expertise and the ability to execute tactics that facilitate deeper social engagement with customers and consumers on behalf of the company and our brands including Brawny®, Quilted Northern®, Sparkle®, Angel Soft®, Dixie® and Vanity Fair® . This role requires the Manager to leverage industry best practices and deliver a consistent voice across social media assets, as well as other communication outlets.

This role is also responsible for working closely with the brand teams to engage a community on an ongoing and frequent basis and is often called on to champion for Georgia-Pacific and our brands. This person coordinates engagement with customer support, brand insights, HR and legal.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Primary interface on social media, responsible for connecting GP consumers, customers and internal stakeholders via social channels on an ongoing basis.
  • Develops overall strategy to leverage key social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube, Pinterest and other related social channels.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring and participating in the community, leading the content strategy and its execution, community growth and analyzing community behavior.
  • Content manager and editor responsible for defining pipeline of relevant content and sharing content through key social media outlets. Manages editorial calendar.
  • Participates in the development of an ongoing internal social media training and education program.
  • Measures and communicates success of and value added through participation in social communities.
  • Identify and leverage new social channels or tools to facilitate growth.
  • Earns place on brand team and develops relationships with other GP businesses and internal capabilities as it relates to strategies, campaigns and content.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Public Relations, Marketing and / or Communications
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) 
  • Experience with managing social media assets on behalf of a brand or a business (Facebook, Google+, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest)
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams and influencing others  
PREFERRED:
  • Experience with content management or social listening tools such as Sitecore, Sprinklr, HooteSuite, and/or Sysomos
  • Community management experience
