Phillips de Pury & Company, the auction house located in New York City, has an opening for a Communications Manager responsible for conducting press and public relations outreach. An integral member of the Marketing Department, this professional must have excellent writing and computer skills, background in the arts and media relations, experience dealing with the press, and the ability to work with multiple deadlines. Key responsibilities include:


- Develop and execute press outreach relating to exhibitions ,events, and auctions
- Write and distribute press releases, media alerts, and other company statements.
- Pitch and facilitate interviews, work with media requests and coordinate responses as needed
- Maintain and build press database, forge relationships with the arts media


Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field and 3-5 years experience in a Communications role. Experience working with art institutions and galleries is preferable. Please send resumes to:prposition@phillipsdepury.com
