Ruder Finn Summer 2012 Public Relations Executive Trainee in NYC

Ruder Finn Summer 2012 Public Relations Executive Trainee in NYC

Ruder Finn, Inc., one of the world’s leading independent PR agencies, is accepting applications for the 2012 summer session of its paid Executive Training Program.

The 33-year-old, application-only Program provides a unique opportunity for recent college graduates to work in an exciting, fast-paced environment and learn from some of PR’s best and brightest managers. Executive Trainees, or ETs as they’re called, work full time and complete a 16-week curriculum on the fundamentals of public relations; they also gain hands-on experience as integral members of account teams.

The Executive Training Program is held three times per year in the NY office. Though a permanent position is not guaranteed, historically, a large percentage of ETs stay on in permanent positions within account teams. Ruder Finn’s goal for the ET program is to identify new talent who can contribute to the innovative, creative work of the Agency.

A privately-held, family-owned company founded more than 65 years ago, Ruder Finn functions in practice areas, divided into teams. The Agency is a dynamic and energetic group of communications professionals who place a high priority on problem-solving skills, ingenuity and imagination to help clients achieve real business results. The first PR agency with an ethics officer, ethics committee and regular ethics meetings, the Agency stands behind its values and seek clients compatible with its way of doing business and treating employees.

Applicants must be passionate about exploring a career in public relations, curious about the world around them and willing to work hard and share their talents. ETs must be skilled in relationship-building, teamwork, meticulous in their attention to detail, able to juggle multiple assignments, as well as understand the urgency of deadlines. Above all, candidates must evidence superior writing skills.

The deadline for the 2012 summer session is February 10, 2012.

A downloadable brochure and application form are available at www.ruderfinn.com/careers.

“…The practice of PR is not simply a form of advocacy and salesmanship, but rather an effort to help people get along with each other in a complicated world.”
-David Finn, founder and chairman
