INTERNSHIPS:
Media Matters for America is a web-based, not-for-profit progressive
research and information center dedicated to comprehensively
monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in
the media -- every day, in real time. We are looking for summer
interns to work in our Washington, D.C. office who believe in
progressive causes. Both full and part-time internships are available.

Communication interns will have the unique opportunity to work with a
variety of our outlets including traditional press, new media, and
external affairs. You will have the opportunity to assist with
monitoring press coverage, drafting news releases, compiling press
clips, conducting online research, working with our new media team to
promote the awareness of Media Matters through social media outlets,
and more.
Additionally, these interns will also spend time working with Media
Matters Action Network, a project of Media Matters that holds
conservative politicians and their political allies accountable in
real time. A new line of products from MMAN called Message Matters,
will seek the help of this intern as well.
Message Matters draws on polling, tested messaging, and expert
recommendations to equip leaders with messaging that goes on offense
and speaks to shared goals and values in the way people actually talk.
Interns will assist with tracking messaging trends, polling data and
research studies to identify and utilize the best existing resources.

Internship Qualifications
Completion of at least sophomore year in college
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Expressed interest in current political issues as well as media
criticism
Prior communications, campaign, and Internet-based research experience
highly desirable
Commitment to the organizational mission and ideology of Media Matters
for America

The Genthner for Supervisor campaign in the Gainesville District of
Prince William County is looking for unpaid interns for the summer
semester. The campaign will work with the intern and their school to
help get the intern course credit for their work on the campaign.
We are in need of interns in the following areas:
Field: Field Interns will learn how to design and implement a campaign
field plan. Interns will be responsible for voter outreach (both in
person and on the phone), data entry, and volunteer recruitment.
The campaign will need 3 full time interns for field work.
Finance: Finance Interns will learn how to manage call time and
implement a finance plan. Interns will staff candidate call time,
assist in preparing call books, and enter campaign finance data.
The campaign will need 1 full time or 2 part time finance interns.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience working on a
competitive Democratic campaign. Interns will work directly with the
campaign manager and the candidate. Interested individuals should send
