Responsibilities:
The GSA Impact Fellowship is designed to provide advanced students with practicum experience
related to their academic course of study, with a focus on public service. As a valued member of the
Southeast Sunbelt Regional Administrator’s team, Fellows will gain direct insight into federal, state
and local government interaction, as well as public-private and citizen engagement.
Fellows will directly participate in a variety of activities to support individual programs. Projects
and activities may include, but are not limited to: participating in high-level interagency meetings;
coordinating meetings and outreach events with external groups; communicating with governmental
agencies at local, state and federal levels; researching and analyzing policy-related matters; drafting
communications materials; researching and/or crafting program strategies; developing messaging on
a variety of topics; and administrative duties, as needed.
GSA is currently accepting applications for select Fellowship positions, which are anticipated to run
November 1 – November 30 , 2014. Invited Fellows must be available for the full period and able
to commit a minimum of 15 hours per week. Fellows will serve in a volunteer/non-paid position,
must consent to a security background investigation upon selection, and must abide by the program
agreement.
Eligibility:
• At least half-time graduate student or undergraduate junior or senior in good standing at an
accredited learning institution through May 2015.
• A student in a field of study that includes: public administration, business administration,
communications, public policy, public relations and marketing, environmental management,
journalism, law, literature, English, and IT.
