Communications Coordinator, Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau,
Stroudsburg, PA

The Communications Coordinator at the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau
(PMVB) supports the public relations and communications areas of the
Bureaus needs in maintaining positive media coverage for the Pocono
Mountains as a must-see destination. The Coordinator helps execute a
pro-active public relations program that complements the PMVBs marketing
goals and strongly positions our brand. In addition, the Coordinator
will assist in providing synergy between the leisure and sales side,
i.e. meetings, reunions, events. The Coordinator is responsible for
tracking and reporting all media outreach, requests and results,
managing media databases and coordinating press and promotional
materials. Critical to this role is building and sustaining excellent
relationships with tourism industry partners, as well as regional media
partners.

Knowledge Required: A bachelors degree in journalism, communications,
public relations, marketing, or related field from a four-year college
or university is preferred. Work experience is also considered.
Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of
Associated Press style guides, grammar, punctuation and spelling, as
well as new-media writing is required. Cision and Adobe software
including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator a plus.

Experience Required: At least one year of experience in a public
relations or communications role and/or equivalent internship.
Experience in the tourism and/or hospitality industry a plus.
Willingness and ability to travel, tri-state region and provide own
transportation. Exceptional writing and editing skills; good oral
communication/presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize,
negotiate and conceive/create new ideas in a high-pressure environment.
Must be extremely well organized and capable of handling multiple
projects simultaneously. Proven ability to meet deadlines. Good
interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) to interact
with the media, the public and all levels of employees and management.
