Description: | The Atlanta Community Food Bank Communications Department offers public relations interns a behind-the-scenes glimpse into nonprofit public relations and how we interface with all types of media. Participants have an opportunity to build their public relations portfolio with professional writing samples such as public service announcements, news releases, media advisories and feature stories, and gain usable work experience in performing fundamental media relations, internal communications, promotions, social media, and news photography tasks. Hours required: • Interns must work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Compensation: • Interns are offered a $100 stipend per month after work is completed. |
Duties: | Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Researching and writing various media and marketing materials • Researching and developing media lists • Compiling and maintaining media coverage files and reports • Assisting the marketing department where needed |
Qualifications: | Requirements: • College student preferably majoring in Public Relations or Communications • Excellent writing skills-two writing samples must accompany resume • Proficient with Microsoft Office software • Detail-oriented, multi-tasker with strong organizational skills • Superb communication and interpersonal skills |
