Public Relations & Marketing Internships at the High Museum (Atlanta, GA)


Public Relations Internship

The High Museum of Art is looking for a PR intern who can be available for a minimum of 16 hours a week and who is currently enrolled in a College or University program. The intern will assist staff with a variety of special projects related to the High’s press efforts. The intern’s primary project will focus on organizing and managing press materials for the High’s main exhibitions, including The Sculpture of Grainger McKoy, Embracing Elegance, 1885–1920: American Art from the Huber Family Collection and Picasso to Warhol: Fourteen Modern Masters. He or she will also assist with PR staff in researching and editing the media database of more than 1,500 contacts and work along with web staff to research ways of reaching new audiences through online media. The intern will also have the opportunity to participate in media preview events, help manage the daily workflow of press inquiries and develop written materials such as press releases and media advisories for exhibitions and programs. Marketing Internship/Volunteer



Availability for one intern/volunteer
The marketing intern/volunteer will have an impact on the institution by assisting with the attraction and sustainment of new audiences, generating attendance, and creating marketing strategies.


Responsibilities may include:
-Assist with creating, promoting, and evaluating HMA marketing initiatives.
-Assist the marketing department in promoting HMA events and programs; this may include performing market research, contacting constituents via phone or email, distributing collateral materials, creating/staffing promotional events, etc.
-Assist with drafting marketing plans and creative briefs.
-Manage a component of a major research project and share his/her analysis with the Mktg/PR team
-Provide creative input for advertising campaigns.
-Assist in creating new strategies, programs and events targeted to college students/young professionals, and present these to the Mktg/PR team.
